Book Review: Paris for One

Author: Jojo Moyes

Publisher: Penguin Books 2015

Rating: 3.5/5

I raved about me before you and it must have been on one of those occasions that my brother was listening to me. When my birthday came around, he must have remember what I had said and he ordered me a couple of Jojo Moyes books. Also, I have visited, and fallen in love with, Paris myself and this rocketed it to the very top of my to be read list.

This is a different kind of blurb.. it’s filled with reviews of Moyes and her writing style.

Eleven unmissable stories from the number one internationally bestselling author of Me Before You and After You.

Firstly, I didn’t realise that Moyes wrote story stories. Secondly, this must be a gift that keeps on giving.

Nell is twenty-six and has never been to Paris. She has never even been on a weekend away with her boyfriend. Everyone knows she is just not the adventurous type. But, when her boyfriend doesn’t turn up for their romantic mini-break, Nell has the chance to prove everyone wrong.Alone in Paris, Nell meets the mysterious moped-riding Fabien and his group of carefree friends. Could this turn out to be the most adventurous weekend of her life?

I thought this book was a quick, easy read that was very enjoyable. I very quickly felt invested in Nell and wanted the best to happen to her 🙂

“You don’t ever do something just because it makes you feel good?” The assistant shrugs. “Mademoiselle, you need to spend more time in Paris.”

Have you ever been on a romantic break to Paris?

Did you fair better than Nell?

happy reading, Hannah x
